As teenagers and young adults in general, going about finding our places in the world in general can be a very up and down process. In “How Are You Feeling?” we explore the vast complexity of this range of emotions, organizing them into four categories: smile, cry, scream, and laugh.
If any word could be used to describe the year so far, we’d probably go with chaotic. In the midst of all this uncertainty, we wanted to take yet another introspective look at ourselves, this time pondering the people and cultures who have made us who we are. We hope you enjoy this trip through not only our minds but through the world.
Caught between living in a very insignificant little town near one of the most important cities in the world can sometimes leave us reflecting on the disparities among the settings. As we look forward to college and adult life, we have to consider where we belong. In Issue 08: “Where Do I Belong?” our community of writers and artists explores both the forgotten corners of the world and those with a roaring prevalence.
Issue nine, “How Have I Grown?” calls to explore a heightened connection to ourselves, others, and the planet, combining personal growth with that which occurs in nature; comparing human beings to plants. Our sights are not set on all that has gone wrong (a list like that would go on far too long) but rather on who we can become, and who we might be in a year’s time.
Within Issue 10: “What Are You Hiding?” we wanted to take a deeper look at the hidden dreams; the hushed whispers that usually stay within the background of our minds. We asked our readers to look deep and question: What parts of yourself do you want to keep from other people? Why leave something in the shadows as opposed to the light?
