“Who Am I?” reflects the question mark that looms over all of our heads until we courageously forge our own answer. in issue 01, we celebrate the questions as well as the answers.
What do you stand for? That is a question we have been asking ourselves a lot lately, given the change we’ve seen in the media. A lot more people are choosing to use their voices to make a stand, and we believe that there is no better way to do that than with art.
Close your eyes and picture a place safe from all darkness and harm. Where are you? Are the colors soft and pastel? Is it your bedroom, your childhood home? In issue three, “What Do I Long For?”, we wanted to compile work that recreates feelings like this.
We believe that our generation is feverishly passionate, and stands up for their own beliefs without fail; that Gen Z has the power to make significant change, and take the world by storm. But most of all we believe that our generation defies definition in its traditional sense; we are an ever-changing group of individuals, growing and learning as we go.
We wanted to create a little escape, a safe haven within the safe haven that already is Potted Purple, if you will. When you read this issue, we hope you open your mind to the possibilities of what can’t be seen. So, if you so desire, find us dancing across constellations, singing with cherubs, and making memories under moonlight.
